How To Register For JioGigaFiber Broadband Service - Step-By-Step Guide

As a preview offer, JioGigaFiber is being installed without any charges but there IS a refundable security deposit of Rs. 4,500 taken for ONT device. 


The installation of the flagship JioGigaFiber will soon start. The registrations began today on August 15, 2018. 

For now, the installation of JioGigaFiber will be done in areas only where it receives most number of registrations. JioGigaFiber is Reliance Jio's fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband internet service. The registration starts on August 1, 2018 and can be done by visiting Jio's official website - jio.com or MyJio app.


The features of JioGigaFiber are:
  • ultra high-speed internet up to 100Mbps for 90 days
  • a monthly data quota of 100 GB
  • a complimentary access to a host of Jio's premium apps under it's preview offer. 
  • in case, the user consumes 100 GB of data provided by JioGigaFiber within a month, he/she can still continue to enjoy high speed internet services by performing a complimentary data top-up of 40 GB via MyJio app or through jio.com.
In this preview offer, there are no installation charges levied but there is a refundable security deposit of Rs. 4,500. As per the details on the official website Jio.com these charges constitute the ONT (Optical Network Terminal) device (GigaHub Home Gateway).

The mere registration on the website, however will not be enough to get the GigaFiber connection. The installation of JioGigaFiber will only be done in those locations where it receives most number of registrations, the company said in a statement.

The step by step process for registering for JioGigaFiber is as follows:
  1. Go to MyJio app/Jio.com website and and click on JioGigaFiber link/tab. You will be directed to gigafiber.jio.com.
  2. In the given spaces/forms enter your address and choose whether it is your home address or work address.
  3. Now click on confirm.
  4. Enter name and mobile number (which can be a non-Jio number also. Click on 'Generate OTP (One Time Password)'
  5. Enter the OTP received. Next, Jio will also ask if you are submitting details on behalf of RWA/society, developer, township. This is optional and you can choose to skip this option.
  6. Now, click on 'Submit'. A confirmation message is displayed which reads- 'Address details have been successfully shared'

That's how you can register For JioGigaFiber Broadband Service. It's a really lucrative offer and one can hope that it will soon dig its feet deep into the marketspace.
